If the thighs are also remade you can bend the leg in just the right way so the feet are in the proper position as well (if that makes sense)Field of Dolls Studiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01454869323868957449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017729781161615945.post-67809457459688925472010-06-21T12:29:11.369-07:002010-06-21T12:29:11.369-07:00I have a youth hunt seat doll that is dressed in j...I have a youth hunt seat doll that is dressed in jods and paddock boots. I cut her feet off at the ankle and used an awl to poke a hole in her leg and then another corresponding hole in the foot. I crammed a length of wire into both holes and presto--the doll now has jointed ankles. Her jods are long enough to cover the wire section and I *always* get compliments on how well this doll sits. I did this little bit of plastic surgery four or five years ago and I've never had to replace the wires although it certainly would be easy to do so. Her feet have never fallen off either!Braymerehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11621884059563380946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017729781161615945.post-90043605383001566522010-06-21T10:22:22.935-07:002010-06-21T10:22:22.935-07:00My next project will be a couple youth dolls so th...My next project will be a couple youth dolls so this is really interesting to me :-) Can you also describe what you do to the arms and thighs? I hadn't considered doing anything to those but the smaller dolls sure have problems!Sianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06072647609773892929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017729781161615945.post-6101850564477489522010-06-21T10:00:46.391-07:002010-06-21T10:00:46.391-07:00It's funny to see this as I attempted boots fo...It's funny to see this as I attempted boots for the youth doll and was perplexed as what to do with her stubby feet! I ended up adding on to the ends of her feet with tape...it worked OK but your method looks more "solid". Now if only we could joint her ankles...horsienuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08360240404943216176noreply@blogger.com
