Horsefest Day 6

This was on my Facebook memories yesterday. I reposted it on Facebook, but I felt like it needed to be here. Not only did I say this 7 years ago, last year I said it still needed to be a thing. So this year, when I reposted it, I said it was finally a thing. And it has been fun, for the most part, even though I have had a lot of pain this week.
Travis and I were at the Clarion hanging out with Danielle pretty late last night so we had a very leisurely morning. I didn't get up until after 9:00 and Travis got up even later. I think we finally got to the horse park around 11:00 or a bit after. But that was nice. We met up with Fabian and Angelo and hung out in the arena for a while. Then I went back to the Breyer store because I needed Percy. He then became my park-friend and we hung out. Or he hung out of my backpack. Either way, he's super cute and he is going on my dashboard with my Horse of a Different Color horse. I think they will be good friends.

Today was the first day I bothered to sit in the arena and watch any of the demos. It was definitely more enjoyable than walking around, since walking hurt so much. I have been getting over 20,000 steps since Tuesday. Yesterday my 20,000 were leisurely apparently. I didn't hurt too much and I didn't hurt as much when I woke up. That was nice.
My little park-friend hanging out in the arena with the pink frog Fabian got for me.
Athenian Lady. She is so much more lovely in person than her model.
This was part of a presentation of disabled riders. They should not be able to do what they do, according to the world. Their performance was amazing and brought me close to tears. So many people have said that Travis, or my kids (that I work with) can't do things. They absolutely can! It might not always go perfectly, and it might take longer to learn something, but if you can't do something, it's something you can't do YET. If you want to do it, keep working towards it.
It doesn't matter how prepared I thought I was for Breyerfest, I wasn't prepared at all. Even with maps, and reading the first timers guide (twice) I still had no idea where anything was, or when things were happening. So Fabian told me when it was time to go get in line for the second chance sale. And I decided to go and hang with him and Angelo and see what was left. I got another surprise (matte silver bay. Totally for sale) and I got another Fight Song, though that one is already sold.
This was the line for the second chance sale. We made some line friends and it was only 91 (or 94) and 51% humidity, with a breeze. And I didn't find it to be that bad. Though the line was comically long.

This display is in the Marriot Griffin Gate, and I needed to take a picture with it. I also have had almost nothing to drink while I have been in Kentucky (because I actually don't drink all that much)
I asked the bartender about the bourbon vending machine but decided to just buy a drink from her. Tonight I did contain bourbon. It was nice. I was also killing time while we waited for them to clean our room.
We went over to the Clarion and hung out with Fabian for a while, saw some other friends, and I let Travis run a bit on the Clarion carpet. He has been very contained for many days now. I figure he could use a chance to burn off some energy.
We hung out and waited for Heather and Jackie to get back from dinner and we went to hang out with them. It was really fun. Lots of stories went back and forth and I may or may not (I totally did) get a little bit teary about how great everyone has been to Travis on this trip. Travis has also been great and has allowed me to do whatever I want. I have been to the horse park when I wanted (which was not all day every day), we have been to the Clarion for room shopping or visiting, and basically, for a week, I have gotten to do things for me. Because Travis is awesome. Tomorrow is our last full day in Kentucky and I am not sure yet what we will do. Probably find a Staples or something so I can buy bubble wrap so I can ship some things that need shipping. And then a post office. I am sure we will find something interesting to do. Or maybe we will just go hang out in the pool. That could be nice.

It's nice to see Athenian Lady, whom I managed to miss completely. Even an old timer can't be everywhere.
