Flying

I have two more posts I am planning to do about Horse-fest but today we are going to talk about flying. Because that is what I did today. I could have flown the plane, and maybe next time, but Travis and I got to go flying in a little plane.
This is my friend, Kevin. I met him through dance and he and I have had an awesome friendship since then. Kevin is an airplane guy (like I am a horse girl) and loves to share his love of airplanes, and flying, with everyone. Today was finally a good chance to go.
I never realized just how small it is inside a small airplane. It's small. Like, hopefully you don't have to try to get anything out of your pockets, small. But the views are spectacular. I am super afraid of heights so I was a bit concerned I would be scared of flying, though I love flying in commercial planes.
Travis LOVES flying as well, so I knew he would have a great time! And he did. We had to move the microphone away from him so he didn't sing to the guys in the tower but he had a blast! I asked if he wanted to fly again sometime and he gave me a resounding YES!
This is a piece of the Connecticut river. Kevin pointed out all sorts of things, but everything looks different from the air. I was slightly nervous at the beginning of the flight but was definitely getting over it. Then the motion sickness started to kick in. How inconvenient. I said we should fly more often, and hopefully I can get used to it. My body really fights me on doing fun things. Though the physical therapy exercises I have been doing (with an app through my insurance) has me feeling so much less pain that dancing is getting easier.
I have only ever been on commercial flights and have never really liked landing. Even if it was a pretty smooth landing, there was always that bit of a swoop, like a roller coaster (not as bad) and usually a big bump when you touch down. Kevin is an exceptional pilot and the landing had no swoops and the touchdown wasn't even noticeable. It's also super cool to be able to see out of the front of the plane as you land. It really was a great experience and I hope I get to do that again!
